      I worked in a biological research lab on CMU’s campus studying maize and sorghum kernels under normal conditions versus drought stress. My responsibilities included sample preparation of the preserved maize kernels by following a repeated laboratory procedure, thin-sectioning the kernel samples using a Vibratome after mounting the kernel, utilizing microscopy skills to image the embryo, and participating in collaborate lab meetings with the rest of the research team.
