I'm attending these after school classes to obtain college credits for related technical instruction and on-the-job training component of the pre-apprenticeship career and technical education (CTE) program. This two-year pre-apprenticeship program is designed for high school students interested in developing professional, work-based experiences to prepare them for college and the workforce. During junior year the program consists of after school and summer components. Senior year students will be enrolled into a mandatory simulated work based enterprise course that takes place during the school day. This unique program will help prepare high school students for on-the-job apprenticeship opportunities after graduation. The district will continue its partnership with Eastern Millworks Inc. – a Jersey City based architectural woodworking company – and join Drape Kings to create new opportunities in an industry that continues to create much needed skill jobs.
