Sonya and I have worked together for over two years now and I can confidently say that I have been able to grow as a publicist (and employee in general) due to her guidance, mentorship, and overall support. She is adept at conveying years of experience to more junior staff, and goes out of her way to create opportunities for others to grow. Sonya is especially skilled at identifying media opportunities for books and translating those back to press staff and authors in ways both can act on. In an area of publishing where expectations, on the part of editor and author, are vast and the media landscape shifting, sometimes hourly, Sonya is able to maintain focus on both the lower-hanging media hits that sell copies and the breakout chances that transform a book's reception.
