      -Offered the chance to rotate between different functional teams in design department. -Permanently attached to Analog Design Team, spent one month each at Digital Design Team, Place and Route Team, Layout Team, and Verification Team. -Learnt the usage of EDA, namely Cadence and Synopsys during the internship. Able to use Cadence Virtuoso to draw schematic and run simulation. 1) Analog Design Team Projects -7nm FinFET model characterization, measure the variation of drain current against gate-source voltage/drain-source voltage, transconductance against gate-source voltage, etc. -Simple digital logic design at transistor level. For example, inverter, MUX, Latch, Flip-Flop etc. -Designed a Four Phase Clock Generator using two different kinds of D Flip-Flop, i.e., the conventional DFF and the TSPC DFF. The DFFs are designed from scratch at transistor level, and the final clock generator can operate at an input clock frequency of 20GHz. -Designed a Folded-Cascode Operational Amplifier which has a gain of around 64dB at nominal corner. -Designed a StrongARM Latch which can operate at 10GHz 2) Digital Design Team Projects -Learnt the usage of Vivado to run simulation on digital circuit implemented using Verilog/SystemVerilog. -Designed a circuit to detect the first repeated character on a string using Python3 and Verilog. -Designed a circuit to detect a 32-bit input sequence, and perform specific task on each different input using SystemVerilog. 3) Layout Team Projects -Learnt the usage of Cadence Virtuoso Layout XL to draw the layout of analog circuit. -Drew an inverter layout of 2 layers, and a complementary differential pair layout of 6 layers. -Performed Layout VS Schematic (LVS), Design Rule Check (DRC), and post-layout simulation after the drawing of the layout. A simple folded-cascode operational amplifier is implemented to perform the post-layout simulation on the differential pair.
