It is my pleasure to recommend Sommer Fanney. Sommer served under my supervision as the Campus Greensboro Program Assistant at Action Greensboro from January-August 2019. Her role with us was temporary/seasonal, but even then she added immense value to the Campus Greensboro Program. In her role, Sommer managed a wide variety of tasks which demonstrated her ability to be agile. One of her first projects was to work with employers to schedule interviews with students. She scheduled hundreds of interviews to take place within a couple of weeks, which required clear communication, fast response times, and a high-level of attention to detail. Sommer’s organization and methodical nature is unmatched, which was imperative to this project and beyond. Sommer also assisted in the planning and execution of dozens of events within a 10-week period. These events ranged from networking receptions, workshops/presentations, and social engagements with 100-250 individuals in attendance. Event planning was a fairly new skill for Sommer, yet she caught on quickly and created strategies to keep organized and ahead. In addition to her work ethic and skill set, Sommer’s overall demeanor added value to our team. Her positivity is contagious which served well under stress, and her authenticity allowed her to build rapport quickly with our team and the students in our program. She was a joy to have in the office!
