Started out as a project trainee for completing my Master's dissertation. I got extensively trained in mammalian cell culture. I was involved in culturing mammalian cancer lines and performing various cell based assays for checking cell viability, initially. This was followed by a bit of flow-cytometry based work, which primarily involved performing apoptosis assays on treated cancer cells.Later, as a part of the project, I also learned the basics of purifying plant extracts using Ultra-HPLC.

As a part of my Master's Dissertation, I started out as a Project trainee, where I was extensively trained in mammalian cell culture. Was involved in setting up a fully functional cell culture laboratory which was followed by culturing various cancer cell lines for experiments, setting up backups and optimization of Cell viability assay; MTT Assay. The aim of this project was to isolate a novel natural anti-cancer compound from a "subject plant". Our team during the initial six months, successfully tested various plant extracts and established a protocol for testing these crude extracts on a panel of cancer cell lines.

As a part of my summer internship, I was extensively involved in mutation analysis of Glaucoma patient samples in Myocilin gene. I got trained extensively in PCR-RFLP for analysis of SNPs in Myocilin gene of patient samples as well as control samples. Also, I was trained for sample preparation followed by post sequencing processing after Sanger sequencing of patient DNA samples.
