      I am an experienced and effective Humanities teacher, with recent and relevant class teaching experience across the KS3/4 range, having worked in a number of challenging inner city schools; including schools in special measures.I have considerable experience in Citizenship as a subject leader. I have worked as a Subject Leader in different schools, and managed PHSE. I have managed and led a team within a department, including Assistant Head of Year, led newly arrived NQTs. I have also developed and maintained new and old Schemes of Work for Citizenship. I am very committed to teaching Citizenship, both for the values and understanding it imparts, but also for its relevance to students’ lives and its capacity to motivate disaffected pupils. I have expertise in: managing challenging behaviour, mentoring pupils as well as working with parents and external agents; developing CPD for teachers within Humanities; line managing NQTs and TAs. I have line managed Learning Mentors and led school action for working with pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs.Whilst at Walworth Academy School I was acting Director of Learning, whilst a colleague was on long term absence. I developed a greater understanding of pastoral work and emotional wellbeing as the foundation for engaged and motivated students as well as teaching P4C in year 7.I am now seeking a position where I can continue to develop a pastoral role, as well as continue to deepen my expertise in Citizenship
