System Analyst/UAT
-
Aug 2011 - Jun 2012
Worked with a group of testers carrying out Functional, UAT, and End-to-End testing on an online insurance application system. The system gives decision on the different kinds of insurance policy including general, commercial and motor. An individual or company enters relevant information, which the system takes as input, and validates against request to issue an insurance policy within reasonable time of submission. In most cases the system issues a decision or defers user application to an adviser. Responsibilities - Analysed the functional requirement which was written in UML (Use Cases) to create the test plan, test cases and test scripts. - Carried out test over several iterations within the Agile development methods (i.e. time boxes of two weeks), each preceded, in the same environment, by a Fit for Purpose (FFP) check, which will verify the successful completion of the software build or point-release. Each iteration of testing was expected to run progressively cleaner, as issues are discovered, fixed and re-tested. - Tested each phase end to end and carried out regression testing using regression test sets to confirm that the existing functionality is unaffected by the increment - Attended daily stand up meeting where the test progress and imperatives are discussed as well as update, systems planning, quality reviews. - Executed defined testing tasks and roles within the project and scheduling own work to meet personal and team deadlines - Creating test scripts and test cases from functional specification that will arrive at the proof of the functional test conditions and identify the test data - Gathering information from the Business to facilitate the writing up of tests strategy, test plans - Supervised and mentored business users in the execution of test script during UAT test - Reviewed as a gatekeeper, all UAT defects raised by the business users by eliminating duplication and defects logged in error thereafter logged valid defects in Test Director Show less
