BBRC/FPM has developed a family of machine learning algorithms able to predict the presence of abnormal levels of Alzheimer’s biomarkers in the brain of cognitively unimpaired individuals by analysing derived data from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).The aim of the project is to use this technology as a pre-screening tool for Alzheimer’s diseaseclinical trials, before current invasive and expensive techniques are applied.Other projects: PENSA Study - a clinical trial that studies whether it is possible to curb cognitive impairment in stages prior to the onset of dementia through the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits and the intake of a preparation based on a component of green tea.Barcelonaβeta Dementia Prevention Research Clinic - a pioneering research project that studies the risk, and its biological bases, of developing dementia within 5-years in people with subjective memory complaints.
