  The Christopher Okigbo foundation was launched in 2002 with the ambition of restoring to one of Africa's most powerful poets the place he deserves internationally. The foundation's mission is to promote and enlarge the range of Christopher Okigbo's work, as well as to further the poet's humanist vision and ideal through promotion of contemporary creation in Nigeria and cultural exchange worldwide. Indeed, Christopher Okigbo's oeuvre represents an important cultural and historical heritage, which has been introduced in the UNESCO “Memory of the World Register” in 2007. Show less
