The Social Changemakers and Innovators (SOCHAI) is an award winning young women led non-profit organization, formed in 2017 to improve overall health, nutrition and socio-economic status of people, particularly women, children and girls through education, innovation and entrepreneurship at grass-root level. We firmly believe that devastating consequences of malnutrition can be prevented with access to simple and affordable interventions. With this vision and determination, SOCHAI implements community based learning programs led by youth in partnership with local government, that are contributing to accelerating the progress in the SDGs 2 – Zero Hunger, 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing, 4 – Quality Education, 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation and 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth. Blood For Nepal, the mega project of Leo Club of Kathmandu Matribhumi was inaugurated during the AGM of Leo Club of Kathmandu Matribhumi in 2018/2019. It was established with the purpose of saving the lives of the people all over Nepal with the motto of “We share we care" (Let's Manage the blood for a reason, let the reason to be life). Its aim is to provide blood either from a blood bank or manage blood donors in case of emergency. Also, to maintain a strong database of donors so that no patient will suffer from blood scarcity. Providing awareness by presenting posters, booklets, other reading materials ,and awareness videos also acts as a motivation for youth to collaborate with national and international organizations for a social cause. Established in 2009, YUWA is a registered not for profit, purely youth run and led organization working to promote youth participation through empowerment and advocacy. YUWA was born out of a group of committed youths, unofficially working in this sector since 2005. The initial focus was to develop leadership skills of the involved youths, to train as youth activists and to advocate for change, thus resulting into a wide and diverse array of knowledge, skills and experience in this sector.
