At WIS, I teach IB and Pre-IB Physics as well as 8th Grade Science. I have really enjoyed teaching at these levels. For the 8th grade class, I've especially enjoyed developing the curriculum as we recently made some major changes to the course. We currently have six units: Digestion, Disease, Metals & Matter, Polymers & Composites, Sound, and Light. I am also the Class of 2021 coordinator--this is a pastoral position that oversees the advisory (tutor or homeroom) program for the class of 2021 and organizes a curriculum for student development. This program includes an Activities Week focusing on social justice during the 9th grade year and a week-long service trip during the 10th grade year. Show less

The summer teaching fellowship at Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovations pairs high school teachers who have a background in engineering with university instructors to deliver a freshman engineering course to advanced high school students. Part of the objective for the Johns Hopkins outreach is that the teaching fellows will be better equipped to bring their engineering knowledge into the classroom at their respective schools. http://engineering.jhu.edu/ei/ The summer teaching fellowship at Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovations pairs high school teachers who have a background in engineering with university instructors to deliver a freshman engineering course to advanced high school students.
