Shihab was my lab instructor for EC 320 during Spring Term 2021 at the University of Oregon. I worked with him for about 8 weeks during lab sessions while learning R/R Studio. During our time together, Shihab provided clear guidance and detailed explanations about how to use R, and the underlying econometric theory behind the operations. He offered and provided extra instruction outside of class, which I found to be exceptionally helpful--specifically around the topics of detecting Omitted Variable Bias and understanding Pearson's r coefficient calculations. Shihab clearly has a strong command of economic principles and theory; he is also equally skilled at explaining those topics to new students. I'd recommend him to other economics students.
Mesbah Uddin
Diligent, unbiased and capable of untying complex knots.

Using structured and unstructured datasets, I conducted trend analyses, estimated causal impact, and developed forecast and valuation models to inform management and policy decisions. In collaboration with senior economists, management consultants, and other relevant stakeholders, I made strategy and policy recommendations to our clients based on research outputs and close review of policy documents. I also managed multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary teams to design studies, analyze data, generate reports, and disseminate findings to technical and non-technical audiences. Show less
