I joint Wellington North Badminton at a time when it needed to be revitalised and rebuilt from the ground up: - Taking charge and leading the development of the operational strategy to provide the best badminton experience in the capital region. The player base quadrupled to circa 2.5k. - Establishing and building strong commercial relationships with local businesses to leverage resources to deliver badminton in a challenging social and economic region. - Deploying sound financial stewardship to provide financial stability to enable continued investment in the organisation's delivery capability, improvement to one of the best purpose-built badminton facilities in the region and strengthened its balance sheet position despite the impacts of COVID-19. - Digitalised and automated stadium operation to maximise efficiency and profitability. Revenue increased by 70% and improved the annual surplus margin from 2.5% in 2018 to 12% in 2020. - A 134% increase in participation compared to 2019 (totalling 4300 participants). - Delivered the biggest sanctioned tournament in New Zealand, with finals live-streamed to Sky Sport Next capturing circa 1.5k views.
