  As an AmeriCorps member I traveled within the North Central Region assisting communities in need across a variety of service areas! I served in Duluth, Minnesota with a nonprofit called Ecolibrium3 in a low income area and Toledo, Ohio with Boy Scouts of America, Erie Shores Council and Toledo GROWS organizations which encouraged environmental education of youth. After being accepted on the Environmental Conservation Focus team I was able to serve Kenosha Parks Department where we handled invasive species removal and park maintenance National Parks Service at Isle Royale National Park helping to maintain a neglected trail. Finally in North Dakota i served with North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department at Turtle River State Park and Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area doing trail reconstruction after an erosion event. I was the Project Outreach Liaison and Service Learning Initiator for my team. My responsibilities are to connect AmeriCorps with potential future sponsors and enlighten my team of the importance of our work through service learning! Show less
