  During my time as a Design Engineer at ACTOM, John Thompson, I had the privilege of taking on a multitude of intricate tasks that shaped my professional experience. Here are some highlights: I was the respponsible engineer for projects at the Matimba, Majuba, and Camden power plants. I also held a supportive role for projects at the Grootvlei and Komati power plants. Some of the work done included designs and calculations of power plant pipes, with the adherance to the EN13480 and ASME B31.1 standards. I also used Caesar II, for sophisticated modeling for Pipe Flexibility Analysis, ensuring robustness and durability in our plant infrastructure. I was also involved in the verification of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) specifically for compressed air lines and the commissioning of the Grootvlei fabric filter plant. My on-site endeavors took me to Zimbabwe, where I conducted steam and coal mill piping surveys as part of the Hwange Power Plant rehabilitation project. I reverse-engineered Coal Mill parts, using Autodesk Inventor, and, with the assistance of our welding department and third party conducted material testing for the re-design of components which were either no longer in production or the manufacturing companies had either left the country or shut down.
