      Class Tutor I was employed by Portobello Institute as a class tutor. I delivered the FETAC level 6 Special Needs Assistant course which consisted of mid week lectures and workshops at the weekend. Each lecture covered a different aspect of disability and the skills required to gain employment as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA). These lectures involved preparing notes and keeping up to date on relevant research and media related items regarding the role of the SNA in Ireland. I was also responsible for correcting exam papers and assignments at the end of each course and allocating appropriate grades to each student. Workshops were held at the weekends and covered areas such as study skills, using the internet, academic writing skills and research skills. I also designed the Programme Module Descriptors for FETAC level 6 and 7 Conflict Resolution and Disability Awareness. Conflict Resolution is part of the Sports Science and Management Degree delivered by Portobello and Disability Awareness is a standalone Module. Other responsibilities included collaborating with institute staff regarding curriculum development and other pedagogic initiatives such as continuous improvement in their area of expertise, focusing on improving the education and learning outcomes of students, ethics, creativity, strategic plans and focusing on improvement, using effective professional learning and development processes. This role included processing claims and following through with these claims making decisions as to whether claims were granted depending on evidence shown from the potential claimant.
