Responsibility for verifying data extracted from peer review systems. Intention of the project is to ensure that the business is confident that the data reflects an accurate depiction of peer review on each journal (approx. 1800 journals). Additional aim is to identify and help journals struggling to use systems effectively. Keeping senior stakeholders informed of project progress and developing processes for Editorial colleagues to tackle any issues journals may be having, e.g. how to use the systems or clarifying responsibilities for Editors of journals. This was a 6 month secondment from my previous role. I was concurrently leading an ongoing project to create Articulate guides for common tasks on both of our existing peer review systems. This involved ensuring team members delivered each guide in a timely manner, providing feedback for changes and getting senior management approval on final versions of guides. Total of 32 different Articulate guides across both systems completed within 6 months (around team members’ day to day workload). Show less

I implement journals onto either ScholarOne Manuscripts or Editorial Manager peer review systems. I then train editors and administrators to coordinate the submission of academic papers on their journals to keep the peer review process running smoothly. I also provide ongoing system support to over 180 journals. I work closely with production and publishing managers to keep all informed of the progress of implementations and help resolve any issues journals might be having with the peer review process.Key Responsibilities• Managing the implementations of an allocated annual schedule of journals onto peer review systems, adapting to customer and business needs.• Coordinating the training and ongoing support requirements of users of online peer review systems across a global range of media.• Providing system-based solutions in response to customer and business requirements.• Developing expert product knowledge, keeping pace with industry developments and system evolution. (HTML, Editorial Manager and ScholarOne, internal systems)• Creation of additional capacity by continuous development of support delivery.• Managing suppliers in order to deliver system support and improvements. Working alongside suppliers to bring about change and updates where the need is identified.• Manage own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps and active knowledge sharing, with particular regard to peer review systems.• Generating solutions where possible and escalating issues appropriately. Administration across ScholarOne Manuscripts and Editorial Manager systems to coordinate the submission of academic papers across several different journals, liaising closely with editors, reviewers and authors to keep the peer review process running smoothly. I worked closely with production and publishing managers to keep all informed of progress and any special issues that were being produced. I coordinated ordering and sending out academic books for reviews and was the first point of contact for anyone struggling with any aspect of using ScholarOne or Editorial Manager. Additionally, I managed a further 8 journals that were administered by an external contractor, auditing their work and dealt with any out of the ordinary enquiries or requests. Show less
