      Cro-Bar Construction Ltd are leaders in the field of drainage and underground plant installations undertaking all aspects of civil engineering, from initial site investigation through to completion and final handover As the company SHEQ manager I was responsible for the implementation of our SHEQ management system and procedures. Plant & Transport: Ensuring weekly plant and transport check sheets are submitted by the various gangs on site and these details are then entered on an overall stock check system. Ensuring appropriate licences, tests, insurances are up to date for plant and vehicles used on the public roads Ensuring equipment is correctly maintained, calibrated, and is safe and fit for use and that only competent persons operate it. Ensuring all accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses, defects, non-conformance, complaints, etc. are reported and dealt with in accordance with SHEQ procedures. Ensuring statutory tests, examinations and inspections are carried out and that certificates, registers and records and kept up to date. Ensuring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is available, issued as appropriate and its use monitored. Purchasing I was the main point of contact with all qualified suppliers for both materials and plant hire. In advance of any projects being carried out I am responsible for contacting qualified suppliers in the local area and pricing all materials and plant required to carry out the works. This information is then passed onto the relevant project supervisor who will deal directly with the supplier for the duration of the works, the supervisor will hand all delivery dockets to my office for filing on a weekly basis. Where the company is tendering for a project, I was involved in the whole process, from reviewing the documents and pulling together all required information for any pre-qualification questionnaires and if successful the pricing of materials, plant, welfare facilities etc for the tender.
