      • Aug 2015 - Present

I have developed a range of skills in both leadership and delivery. As a team, we plan and deliver a tutorial program involving many aspects outside of the national curriculum such as sharing the opportunities of future progression routes; university support with applications, apprenticeship information and employment opportunities. I currently work specifically with ESSH students but also have experience in working with STEM students prior to this all of which supporting progression of young people in entering the healthcare sector as well as creating opportunity for extra curricular activities and networking. I also support HE students studying their foundation year in partnership with Staffordshire University.I am assigned a cohort of 200+ students whom I meet both one to one and on a group basis. My role involves pastoral duties such as Student Support, along with academic and personal support through monitoring each students’ progress, attendance and attainment. My knowledge of SEN has supported my expertise in recognising individual learners and their needs. I have also grasped opportunities to develop in specific training sessions to support the level of learners within a sixth form and/or university, i.e. A Level Mind-set, Safeguarding, CAMHS Tier 1 and 2 and Mental Health Awareness. My involvement in planning and organising events to support and promote equality and diversity within the sixth form has helped to support all students no matter what their background. We have celebrated a range of festivals and built awareness around other cultures and the wider community. I have also lead on groups such as 'Multicultural Connection' to support and facilitate BAME female students in discussing cultural barriers and strategies to enhance confidence and self esteem. My additional role as STEM 'Futures' Curriculum Lead has involved coordinating curriculum staff to organise talks, events and WEX opportunities adhering to the Gatsby benchmark.

    • Teacher of Health & Social Care/English & Cover Supervisor
      • Sep 2013 - Jul 2015

During my time as a cover supervisor I delivered a range of subjects to students in years 7-11 within the national curriculum. My knowledge of behavioural and classroom management along with differentiated recourses enabled myself to adapt my teaching style to suit each learner. Due to my desire to progress within the teaching profession I was then allocated a timetable to teach both English and Health and Social Care alongside cover. This opportunity did not only develop my teaching techniques and resources but gave myself hands on experience of the importance of assessment and progress. I also lead on extra-curricular activities such as dance and reading groups as well as revision sessions in preparation for examinations. My time at OSSMA developed my delivery within a classroom environment as well as relationships with students, parents and the wider community. I enjoyed developing skills through training in T & L as well as AFL and attending training sessions on Special Educational Needs, Gifted & Talented and safeguarding.
