I had a pleasure working with Simran as an undergrad at Punjab Agricultural University. She is an amazing mentor. She is highly encouraging and supportive. I found her really passionate and her guidance has helped me in every aspect of my career as a biologist.

Simran worked with me during her master's degree at Punjab Agricultural University. She was involved in identification of MTL loci in wheat and transfer them to known cultivars using marker assisted selection. She worked in analysing whole genome sequencing data to identify MTL orthologs from rice genome into wheat and designing kasp specific markers for validation and transfer. She generated new f2 derived populations for testing markers. During this time she showed keen interest in molecular biology, genetics and bioinformatic analysis. She is hard working and is keen to accept new scientific challenges. She can work in a time bound manner and can easily bond with other lab members to learn from them. She has also shown her team leading quality by managing four under grads during their 6 month training. I wish her well for her future endeavours.
