It is a pleasure to recommend Simon. I worked for Simon at AMP within the 2018/19 Federal Budget Project, during that time Simon proved to be a highly competent Senior Manager who consistently demonstrated excellent management and leadership skills in all facets of project delivery. Simon is technically very competent and can effortlessly build rapport and strong effective working relationships with his team members and stakeholders at all levels within an organisation. Simon manages uncertainty with ease, while coaching his team to maintain ‘laser-like’ focus on delivery at all times and particularly during periods where key information is not available. Simon is competent at maintaining effective project governance controls and adhering to PMO methodologies. I enjoyed working in Simon’s team and hope to do so again in the future. I have no hesitation in recommending Simon to any future employer.

I worked with Simon at Telstra. He is quite frankly one of the best Program Managers I have ever had the privilege to work with. He does what he says, always finds a solution to tricky problems, rolls his sleeves up and gets stuck in. Its a pleasure to be able to recommend him.

As part of the ground-breaking initiative to bring the e-Health capability to every Australian, the development of compliant software applications to interface between health professionals and the e-Health system itself is a cornerstone of the program's success. I successfully facilitated and managed the process by which a select group of software vendors where able to develop and test their products to meet rigid industry standards in time for the Go-Live launch of the system. As a recently in-sourced entity, EIT was tasked with the delivery of infrastructure and application services to the three towers of this insurance group. Seeking significant service delivery improvements while delivering BAU operations called for adept management of the internal customer and the EIT hierarchy. Working with highly focused and talented senior leadership and management teams some extraordinary results were achieved. I personally delivered significant improvements in the demand pipeline, portfolio management, and project and BAU financial management, contributed significantly to project capability improvements, while also saving and overseeing the successful delivery of a number of high value programs of work. As a small company experiencing a welcome but significant growth curve, Airloom found itself being so busy with delivering it did not have the time or resources to deal with the uplift in delivery capability required to meet demand. While tactically managing the existing demand pipeline, I introduced the necessary tools and processes to enable projects to be tracked, resources leveled and costs accounted for. The critical piece was to engineer these solutions so that they were appropriate for the size of the company yet could be scaled as required. Job done! Show less

    • Director of Professional Services APAC
      • Oct 2006 - Nov 2008

As Director of PS I was tasked with forming a local team and system of delivery partners that could deliver existing sales as well as being involved with the anticipated growth of the region. With limited resources I managed to deliver a number of very large projects. Significant interest in the Dexterra product by such houses as Fujitsu, Telstra, Mincom and UXC opened the door to a different approach and Dexterra Australia moved to a distribution model and the professional services team were transferred to a number of companies to provide in-house expertise and capability. My role changed to being one of an account manager for delivery and developing the product roadmap with large clients. The distribution model worked too well and Dexterra Australia was eventually phased out and under financial difficulty the parent company was bought by Antenna Software. The re-branded Dexterra products are still in service by the companies that I delivered to under the Dexterra banner. Show less

I owned the service relationship with the clients (who are all top 100 key and corporate), acted as Senior Project or Program Manager and became the client advocate to ensure strategic and operational delivery and performance criteria are met. My key achievements were• Successful service management of key corporate Telstra accounts including Coca-Cola (Aus), AGL, Caltex, OneSteel, Hanson Australia and Tenix (total value approx $50 million).• Retention of $5 million revenue ‘at risk’ by accounts potentially moving to competitors.• Account growth of $3 million.• Successful delivery of projects including complex data networks, VOIP/IP telephony, data centre consolidation/migrations, wireless solutions, hosting, managed services, infrastructure and platform integration.• Leveraged significant internal and external process change to increase delivery efficiencies. • Senior Project Manager (Woolworths Account)
      • Mar 2003 - May 2004

As senior project manager for the Woolworths Transformation I delivered a complete data transformation to approximately 1500 sites Australia wide within an eighteen-month period. The Transformation Project was worth an estimated $60 million in capex and in excess of $12 million in operational revenue. The project was considered to be ‘at risk’ when I was appointed - seven months behind schedule with no project agreements in place with the customer. I was able to turn this around within five weeks and within ten weeks of my appointment the first services were being rolled out. I successfully negotiated dedicated resources in a shared services environment and established new delivery mechanisms/processes to ensure quantity of targets were met. Show less
