Simon Hewitt

I’ve had the pleasure to deal with Simon for several years and he’s a true master of the written word. My initial experience of him was as a hungry newshound and I’ve always loved reading his varied work across the press – from the latest AV gadgets to cycling. More recently, we’ve engaged Simon – and his colleagues at Magic Number – to work on some copywriting projects and have been really impressed with the results. He / they are quick to understand the brief, ask the right questions and can quickly switch between writing about esoteric and technically complex products and more general consumer oriented tech. To cap it off, Simon’s a really top bloke to work with and even though he’s a committed family guy, he and his crew never fail to deliver, even when we’re a bit last-minute as a client. He’s both a man of integrity and great laugh – especially over a real ale or three. Crucially, I’ve never, ever seen him touch that fizzy commercial junk…

A journalist with vast experience of consumer technology, you will not find a more pleasent and accommodating freelancer. He understands the constraints of a PR, offers sensible solutions in testing situations and more importantly never sugar coats his responses.
