"Every now and then we place it right there between the goalposts without even aiming at it in the first place" I had the great fortune of employing and subsequently the pleasure of working with Ms. Simone Kruithof at Nobis Hotels AB whilst I was the General Manager for Nobis Hotel's first international expansion into Copenhagen, Denmark with the historic project, "Nobis Hotel Copenhagen and restaurant Niels", in the magnificent former Royal Conservatory of Music building in central CPH. Simone was my Assistant General Manager during the planning and executing of all pre opening and indeed opening work related to both the building site during the conversion of the historic site and to the complete operational set-up of the hotel, restaurant and organisation as a completely new entity for Nobis Group in Denmark. Simone was as engaging of our teams as if they were all her own and had attention to detail and a real flair for a sterling common sense approach to the challenges we solved together and those she solved for me, the company, and ultimately the guests of the Hotel, restaurant/bar and Event departments. Despite her young years she has an ability to create focus amongst her peers and works with a" simply say yes" approach to hospitality that shines positively through at even the most challenging of times. With time and good mentoring Simone will easily become a star of tomorrow to be looked out for. Simone, Let's do it all again! Jakob Erhard Hansen, VD Hotel Operations

Simone was my Student Assistant in academic for a year. In this role, she was responsible for the co-ordination of external presentations and fairs at schools in the Benelux. She also co-organized events at school. And she joined me to promote Hotelschool The Hague at an education fair in Luxembourg twice, where she demonstrated a talent for sales as well as excellent people- and communication skills. She can interact effectively at all levels, and was not afraid of hard work or long hours. What I especially like about Simone is that she is a true self-starter with a very quick grasp of matters. She never misses a deadline and has a high level of integrity. Simone performs very well under pressure and whenever a problem or challenge occurs, she is able to solve it easily. I strongly believe that the basis for this admirable skills and competencies were formed during her youth, when she was an ice-skater and performed at a very high level. Already then, she needed to multi-task and plan her time well. Simone is friendly and reliable and I will miss her, it will be a challenge to find an equally good successor.

      • Jun 2016 - Jun 2016

A selected group of Hotelschool The Hague students have been invited to follow the course Strategic Development abroad, for the Four Seasons hotel Miami. During this course students were asked to perform as consultants to analyze and recommend improvements for the strategic direction of the company. In the first five weeks the team mostly analyzed the external and internal environment of the Four Seasons. Then after these first five weeks the adventure continued in Miami itself. The team was delighted and honored to meet the entire management team of Four Seasons Miami and to ask many questions concerning their current strategy. After ten intense and fulfilling weeks, our team was honored to present a competitive method to the entire management team and to Dr West, co-author of the book Strategic Management in the Hospitality Industry. It has been such a privilege to receive their feedback on our ideas and to work with such great Industry leaders, an experience we will never forget!

F&B Trainee in the Bar No. 23 During my first operational internship as a Hotelschool The Hague student, I have had the privilege to partake this internship at The Merrion Hotel in Dublin. This internship has been one of my best ones so far. The hotel has given me much opportunity to participate in trainings and to develop as a person in only five months. At the end of the internship I was responsible for entire areas of the cocktail bar No. 23 and the lounge called The Drawing Rooms. I enjoyed serving the beautiful art afternoon tea, and already after a few weeks I started training new hires what the afternoon tea was about. It made me feel extremely good and useful to see that I was given such responsibilities. I thank my manager Fabrice Furling, for guiding me during my internship and my colleagues at the hotel for creating such a good atmosphere and culture at the work floor.
