Not only did I learn a lot about purchases but since I was hired at the same time as the opening of the store, I was also involved in the establishment of the daily routines. The job required strong analytical skills since it consisted of analyzing the sales and how we could improve the sales. I had to analyze the external and internal environment – Identify the trends and from that figure out what would sell in our store. We had few suppliers when I entered the business so I was continuously looking for new suppliers that could improve our product range. Building relations (and also maintaining relations) was therefore an important part of my job and I really enjoyed it. My job regarding our marketing campaigns, was to analyze what kind of product that would sell during this period and then negotiated the price with the supplier. During this time I was also involved in the opening of two other World of Toys stores, one at Terminal 2 and one in Stockholm. Hence I got experiences of starting up new stores and how to coordinate between the 3 stores, since I was in charge of the purchases for all stores. Key achievements: Improved my analytical skills and negotiating skills, The Store received the Award “The Store of the year” at Arlanda Airport, successfully launched campaigns – e.g. 400 % increase in sales for the given product.
