The main objective of TypicalEats is to help travelers explore the unique gastronomic heritage of each city and country, while also preserving traditional cuisine. The platform is designed to promote small food and wine eateries, ensuring they have a fair chance to reach the top positions. Unlike other portals, where the number of reviews determines the ranking, TypicalEats uses an algorithm that places a greater emphasis on the quality of the dish rather than the absolute number of reviews. As a result of its innovative approach, TypicalEats won the prestigious "Smart Tourism" challenge, outperforming 127 other participants to claim the top spot.
