Simon Volta has been my mentor since the inception of my career at FedEx. I can say with certainty, without his guidance and mentorship, I would not have had the same number of successes in my short time with the organization. As a new employee working in logistics, there is an immense amount of information to learn. After working with my last company for nine years, this was a struggle for me. Simon has an enormous wealth of knowledge on the company and its operations. I have not met too many people that possess the amount of insights about FedEx operations, systems, procedures and resources than Simon has. Not only is he there to field any question I had, he is a great sounding board to develop customer strategies. I have run into numerous situations and not known how to position a solution or build a pricing program. Simon was instrumental helping me to develop winning strategies for my customers. While Simon has a wealth of knowledge, he doesn’t always give an answer to any question. It is intuitive for him to know when to provide an answer and when force me to think on my own.
