Sim on was responsible for the design and implementation of nutrition components of bilateral donor sponsored international health development projects. He was responsible for the provision of ongoing technical assistance to the World Food Programme (WFP) on integrating nutrition components in HIV and TB care in the areas of advocacy, program design, policy and capacity development in the Asia region. He was the project coordinator and technical advisor for activities relating to the Thai-Australian Collaboration in HIV Nutrition (TACHIN) partnership project between ASC, Thai Red Cross and Mahidol University. He was also technical advisor for TACHIN extension project in Pakse Province, Lao PDR. He also provided technical input to WHO SEARO on HIV nutrition interventions as part of the ASC Collaborating Centre responsibilities.Another core role involved the provision of clinical nutrition services for clients of the ASC. Clients include people living with HIV (PLHIV), people who inject drugs (PWID) and people living with Hepatitis C (HCV). He was responsible for the development and implementation of nutrition education and training programs for health and support workers involved in the care of people living with and affected by HIV, TB, and HCV. He also was a lecturer in nutrition and public health for post graduate students at University of Sydney.
