How to leverage unstructured textual data in clinical data warehouses for research purpose, or even data quality control ? I propose text representations (embeddings) based on the medical concepts from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) extracted from the text, as well as the context they appear in. These embeddings have allowed to effectively detect many patient files with incoherent coding of their diagnosis.
