In charge of electrical preassembly such as the drivetrain and main electrical cabinet of which I have built some of the first prototypes. I am also usually responsible for the software configuration of these components. I have become proficient in reading electrical schematics in the process. I’ve also wired sensors in experimental boats and took part in the process of validating the sensor readings. Although I joined Xshore as a lab technician, I have integrated into the system team and taken engineering tasks throughout my time here. I’ve been sent to fix boats with electrical problems abroad on multiple occasions. In addition to my designated responsibilities, I have taken initiatives such as developing my own automatic testing equipment for serial production quality control and I’ve also put great time into performing CFD on the hull, providing input for other teams which have allowed more informed design decisions.

LiveLink Aerospace is an RnD company that is developing a fully autonomous drone detection and interception system for airport runway security. There was constant messing with electronics of various types. I designed parts for drones and built them; planes and multi-rotors. I was usually responsible for selecting and sourcing all parts and electronics. I designed custom housing for electronic systems and was responsible for their manufacture and assembly. I persuaded a colleague to teach me how to use the company’s Syil X7 CNC milling machine outside of work hours along with some practice with generating tool paths for it. I was given a very independent role at LiveLink with a lot of freedom in approaching each problem. I got the opportunity and funding to build on my previous experience with drones, design and electronics faster than ever before and in a very experimental way.

At the time of my internship, the very first serial production boats were being made. My responsibilities varied from crimping and installing electrical wiring throughout the boat to the assembly of hydraulic pumps, not to mention standard boat part fittings such as cleats and nav lights. Working with carbon fiber was commonplace as was working with large amounts of epoxy. The great colleagueship and enthusiastic atmosphere there caused me to become very committed to the success of the company. Consequently, I developed a passion for electric vehicles and faith in electric propulsion to power the future.
