    • Group Management Accountant
      • Mar 2005 - Jan 2010

My first role out of practice was in a small head office during an exciting transition into a FTSE 100 PLC. The matrix organisation, organic growth and regular acquisitions enabled me to gain a wide range of experience in corporate reporting with exposure to stakeholders throughout the business. Responsibilities:- Integrating acquired businesses and providing training on company procedures.- Production of the Group management accounts and forecasts. This included ensuring all parties adhered to divisional timetables, reviewing returns, variance analysis and resolving issues. - Preparing board packs, half-year and full-year group consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts.- System and process improvements - Design, consolidation and review of the Groups weekly cash forecasts from each division. These were used to ascertain the appropriate amount to be drawn down on the groups borrowing facilities and to minimise risk through hedging and working capital management.- Implementing the Cognos consolidation package across the Group; this covered monthly reporting and forecasts, incorporating changes to IFRS. I provided training and was the first point of call to resolve issues. Show less
