Production Engineer
-
Apr 2014 - Present
My main aim as a Production Engineer is to ensure that all of what we build is manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality which is aided by detailed assembly drawings created by myself using ZWCAD. I oversee the production of PCB's in high and low volume's for the aerospace, industrial, computer and rail industries on a daily basis. My responsibilities in this role is the introduction of NPI's, applying ECN's to existing products and provide support to the production team during assembly of new and existing products. NPI's require me to generate a bill of materials, detailed assembly drawings and machine programs based on customer data. Assembly drawings are created using ZWCAD or Draftsight and machine program's are based on CAD data provided by the customer or generated through GC PowerPlace. I also liaise with customer's regarding queries involving their products and changes made due to customer request or for example replacement components due to obsoletion or unavailability due to long lead times. SMT Operative

Jan 2010 - Apr 2014
I had quite a number of main duties at in this position at OSI Electronics which I had to organise and prioritise throughout the day. A main duty is the Programming of NPI's on the Mirtec MV3 AOI. This means ensuring the first PCB which is being programmed had the correct solderabilty standard, component orientation and component values. Another responsibility of mine involved scanning and reviewing NPI's and main production PCB's then using the Repair Plus Review Station to review the faults displayed and rework where necessary. I also ran a number of Europlacer SMT Pick & Place machine's which included loading and checking component trolley's, reflow oven profiles and the machine programs. Show less

My main responsibility was checking, preparing and manipulating the data to be exported in to excel which was then mail merged to a letter to be printed and mailed. In this position an eye for detail was essential to the amount of printing that was involved with some jobs. Sadly my time at John Turner's was cut short due to the company going into administration and making the whole workforce redundant mid February 2009. Assembler / Inspector / SMT Operative
-
Oct 2001 - Feb 2007
I started as a Mechanical Assembler and as a team building various PCB's along with running a Pansert Radial Inserter Machine. After a year I was selected by Quality Assurance to join their team due to my attention to detail and began inspecting the PCB's. I then moved onto SMT and began loading and programing components onto magazine's within the SMT area, highlighting any material issues, filling in paperwork and carrying out transactions on the stock system if necessary. I also set-up and operated a Printer and Mydata Pick & Place machine for the production of SMT products in line with daily and weekly deadlines along with liasing with engineering for production feedback Show less
