Joined Brown Pestell as Manufacturing Manager – Accountable for CNC and conventional machine shop, stores and assembly departments which employed 22 staff with responsibility for budgetary control of £ 100k. During this period I developed, recommended and implemented a two-shift system on CNC machinery. In addition, I was also responsible for Plant maintenance and control, liaison with Production Manager and Sales Office to ensure timely deliveries of customers’ components, motors and gearbox assemblies. With the introduction of a new product range I organized the construction of a new warehousing facility within the existing factory. It was also necessary to implement new stock control practices.

Started working in the Drawing Office designing jigs and fixtures for machine tools. Progressed over the years in many areas of the business covering management of sheet metal manufacturing, fabrication and assembly and CNC machining. By the end of my 11 year term I had earned the position of Manufacturing and Site Manager. This gave me total responsibility not only for production, but purchasing, stock control, quality assurance, site maintenance and security. With management responsibility of 30 staff and a total spend of £500k per year.
