I am the technical animator for the game Miscreated, at Entrada Interactive. Miscreated is an open world survival game created in CryEngine. For the main character, Miscreated uses a unified first and third person animation system, which came with a lot of challenges, and I designed and maintained this animation system (not including code). The in game IK system in CryEngine was heavily used to ensure that this unified system worked correctly. Elsewhere in the development I've rigged, and skinned a range of creatures. As well as exporting and importing these characters into the engine, and setting up their ragdolling. I also maintained all the characters, as well as the setup of 3d blendspaces, and aimposes. I have also worked with modellers for characters to ensure that models such as clothing for the main character, and the creature models had good topology for the skinning process. I also worked closely with the programmers to develop certain systems, such as the prone system for the main character. Part of my work has included creating python scripts to help with the pipeline work. Due to our team size, this wasn't a big focus, however some tools were very useful during the development. For instance, I created a dressing tool for the main character so the modellers could test out new clothing with every other bit of clothing to make sure it fit before the model was passed on for skinning. Other tools included an animation export and import tool. Over a 5 year project we found some of the older files could crash and this tool allowed us to export animations on to a fresh rig in a new file whilst maintaining animation keys, layers, and tangents.
