      After leaving the RAF in January 2005, I returned to Marham as a subcontractor in March 2008. Initially I took a job on the shop floor as an aircraft electrical technician where I carried out the following type of work:• Manufacture of aircraft wiring assemblies to design specification.• Embodiment of aircraft modifications.• Maintenance and fault investigation.• Stripping and rebuilding aircraft assemblies.• Calibration, set up, testing and adjusting components, assemblies and systems.Within six months I was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer and became responsible for planning the following aircraft activities:• Creating work packages for faults found, during maintenance activity.• Creating work plans from Technical Instructions.• Writing Engineering Work Methods for aircraft technicians using approved data.• Evaluating complex tasks with assistance from appropriate specialists.In April 2009, I applied for and was successful in gaining a full-time position within BAE Systems as Tornado Technical Support Engineer (see above).

Tours included depth maintenance, first line at 208 Sqn, 29 Sqn, and II(AC) Sqn, and finally as a Systems Instructor in the Tornado Maintenance School, where I was the Primary Phase Instructor and Subject Matter Expert on the following aircraft systems: SCR200 Crash Recorder System, Landing Gear Systems, Fuel Systems and Armament Control Systems I gained a number of other specialist skills during the various tours including that of Unit Mobility Officer, where I was responsible for organising and coordinating the global movement of up to 200 military personnel and equipment in support of military air operations.
