Josh MacAlister
Simon has worked at Frontline for three years during which time the charity has grown fourfold. As Head of Growth and then Head of Strategy and Planning, Simon has impressively delivered a number of major projects that have enabled this growth. These have included the procurement and set up of a new university partnership to validate our programme, building an agile working culture across two significant office moves, leading the delivery of our 2020 strategy and the introduction of organisational goals and KPIs. Simon can be really proud of the difference he has made to Frontline over a period of rapid growth, as the cohort size of our Frontline programme increased from 160 to 450 per year. Simon has been able to achieve great results by getting alongside colleagues at all levels. Simon is respected and liked by his team and from the start of his work at Frontline he was able to build great relationships with colleagues across the organisation. He listens deeply to the needs that other teams have and he can adjust his approach well based on the people he’s working with. This has been crucial for Simon as his role has required him to work with every part of the charity. Simon has also been fun and educative to work with. He brings new ideas and approaches to the work and is fully committed to developing himself through coaching, feedback and new opportunities.
Samuel Sims
Simon has brought a wealth of skills to Frontline. He has the rare combination of being a strong leader as well as a highly accomplished project manager, excelling in and particularly attentive to change management. Simon is adept at engaging and collaborating with people across the organisation by building really strong, purposeful relationships. He is consistently able to provide a strategic perspective that takes the broader organisational context fully into account. Simon has proactively sought to identify and support issues across the organisation, working with staff at all levels to develop understanding and co-create solutions they are empowered to own and can continue to evolve. He is highly committed, hard-working and tenacious in always seeking to find creative ways to solve the most problematic and adaptive organisational challenges.
