Strength And Conditioning Coach
-
Jan 2021 - Apr 2021
As part of my University placement, I got the opportunity to be responsible for the Strength and Conditioning for Manly United FC’s U20 team. Every session I conducted player wellness & health check before training. This involves getting a players rating (1-5) for the criteria of ‘Sleep’, ‘Soreness’, ‘Fatigue’ and ‘Stress’. I instructed the prehab of every session. This consisted of mobility, dynamic warm-up and intensive or extensive drills (based on the periodised program). The aim was to prepare the players for the training session and improve the agility, speed and endurance performance of the team. It also aims to prevent injury. Throughout the training session, I oversaw the return to training (RTT) players and managed their training load (set by the physios prior to the session). I also monitored the players throughout, adapting their training session based on soreness/fatigue and other wellness feedback provided. I also helped with the delivery of rehabilitation exercises (as prescribed by the physios) for players who were recovering from injury/illness. At the end of each session, I collected RPE’s of all the players and input them into the excel spreadsheet to continue tracking their internal load and monitor their overall wellness. Show less
