PEC serves over 239,000 meters, covering an area of over 8,100 square miles and serving approximately 525,000 people. Logistically coordinate day-to-day call center activities which include: customer interaction, developing correspondence for members and interacting with all departments and district offices. Selected to participate in the Smart Grid Pilot, this program was designed to help our members have a better understanding of the utility industry and manage their accounts for personal energy savings. Maintain a working knowledge of the broader energy utility industry trends, developments and possess an operational knowledge of energy conservation and demand response concepts and enabling technologies. Monitor weather emergencies, “clearances,” press releases, new program introductions, and outages and actively keep members up-to-date on relevant information. Attend weekly team “mini” meetings with staff and help establish procedures and instructions that will enable my team to meet company goals and establish “best practices” objectives. Constantly handle correspondence, cash adjustments, service requests, and auto payment forms. Completed special projects and teach mini training sessions as assigned including: Give-A-Watt, Load Shedding, Call Transfer Procedures and initial New Hire Call Center Orientation. Prepare reports, analyze information to keep management informed, and actively respond to customer service issues that face the Cooperative Develops and maintains working relationships with others in the Cooperative including staff, representatives of community resources, other state agencies, federal agencies, and the public.
