  My main project was to create a database based on glass analysis. Glass is an inorganic material, mostly oxides of Na, Al, Ca, Fe, Si, etc. It is a amorphous material, ie the molecules are in disorder in relation to each other. Glass samples were obtained via different glass service - companies. Glass samples were clearly marked and then prepared for further work. In this project, ​​the analysis of glass was done by using physical and chemical methods. We measured the refractive index (Rl) through the use of automatic measurement of the glass refractive index using GRIM3 and Oil immersion method. A frequency chart was made by inserting the number (incidence of various RI) as a function of refractive index. In addition, it was measured on the "flow", "no flow" and "bulk" sides for some of the glass samples, and by changing the focus and brightness by measuring RI, as a process of optimization of the method. The result for the frequency distribution was consistent with similar measurements in Sweden. Focus and brightness changes had no significant impact / influence on the optimization of the method using the GRIM 3 In addition to this task were different glass samples with relatively similar RI, analyzed to determine the elemental composition using electron microscopy (SEM / EDS). The analysis was conducted to determine whether it was possible to obtain better discrimination of glass samples with relatively similar RI. The results from SEM / EDS gave no better discrimination factor for the analyzed glass samples, when elemental composition was relatively similar.
