I am the assistant principal and first grade teacher so I had a close connection to Siesan this school year. From the first moment and all year, Siesan’s enthusiasm, her energy, her positive nature, and her genuine caring made her classroom an inviting place where children can learn. She is very knowledgeable with the use of Anchor Charts and technology. When you walk into her room, you can see the learning that is taking place. Anchor Charts cover her walls. When Siesan is working with a small group, others are at their desks working, or on the computer working, or in the reading corner. Everyone is busy learning. When her class grew and we hired a 3rd grade teacher, Siesan helped this new teacher with setting up her classroom and training her on our online grading system, PowerSchool. Siesan has been an asset to our primary department and the school. In the fall she co-led a professional development technology class for all of our teachers (preschool through 8th grade). She uses the Promethean Board in her classroom for most of her group lessons. Our school shares 13 iPads and the second grade room is all a buzz on the day it is their turn to use them.
