EWG aims to inform consumers about toxic substances in everyday products. As an legal extern, I may write blogs, conduct legal research, attend lobbying and stakeholder meetings, attend client meetings, draft legal and persuasive memos, and expand my knowledge of pesticides and other toxic substances. This Fall, our focus will be on PFAS legislation, cosmetics, and food chemicals. I will also have the opportunity to explore environmental justice topics through my work this Fall. • Aug 2020 - May 2021

At the Environmental Justice Clinic, student Clinicians represent and partner with disenfranchised communities fighting racial and economic disparities in the distribution of polluting sources, while also fighting for a say in decisions affecting their future. The Environmental Justice (EJ) Clinic at VLS is one of just a few law school clinics in the United States specifically devoted to environmental justice, an interdisciplinary practice at the intersection of civil rights and the environment. Students are involved in real-life cases. We work in partnership with low-income communities and communities of color to address racial disparities and ensure that residents can fully participate in decisions affecting their health and welfare. I am gaining experience working on law and policy issues at the nexus of environment, race, and policy, while also learning essential community lawyering skills. ---Edited from Vermont Law School’s web page on the EJ Clinic

As a Volleyball Supervisor I am responsible for putting up and taking down the nets, taking score, ensuring that the games are played fairly and by the rules, and that players have fun! Working at Underdog, I have learned the importance of fun in the workplace. Each match it is my job to create an atmosphere that players enjoy and want to come back to every week. • Diversity Workstudy Intern
      • Oct 2017 - Jun 2019

As the Diversity Work Study Intern I am responsible for conducting, summarizing and distributing research on the local and national legal field. Specifically, much of my research focuses on how lawyers and clients of historically underrepresented communities feel the legal field is doing in relation to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The purpose of conducting this research is to have an updated understanding of where the legal field is today and how it needs to improve. In addition to my research, I put together the Diversity Announcements which go out to 500+ legal persons several times a month. These announcements feature articles, upcoming events, and other news related to D&I in the legal field. I'm also responsible for the Heritage Month Page for WSBA. Each month, I create a Heritage Page that highlights the current community being celebrated. The point of this page is to get the legal community involved in deeper learning of various cultures and identities so that our field is informed and is connected to these communities that have done so much work to hold our field accountable.

    • Student Gardener
      • Jan 2015 - Jun 2019

As a student gardener I am responsible for ensuring the health of Seattle University's landscapes, and the safety of my team. Under the leadership of several people I have learned the importance of team work. At Grounds, we say "Grounds for Life" because we are truly a group of close individuals who have built a culture of trust in our workplace. On a regular day I may be tasked with anything from weeding a garden bed, to mowing, or planning out a new landscape. Because of this I have become very comfortable with learning new skills fast and how to focus on many projects at one time.
