During the summer months, I can work inside or at the ice-cream truck that we have permanently parked on campus. We greet customers, answer the phones, take orders, and place and handle all Togo orders including doordash and Grubhub. We also have to do frequent bathroom checks and clean-up around campus to help guests have the best experience. When we work the ice cream truck, we scoop ice cream, make shakes, floats, and so much more. During the winter months, we set up igloos outside for people to have a warm place to sit, but still enjoy the outdoor view. As hosts, we book all igloos, make a server schedule, seat guests, and reset the igloos for the next guests. Show less

The Little Gym is a program for kids from 4 months old to 12 years old to learn basic gymnastics skills and enhance physical development. I started off as an assistant instructor running classes for the pre-k and grade school kids. After I short few months, I transitioned into a lead instructor and birthday party instructor. For each class, we had a theme of the week and a skill of focus to emphasize to our kids. Not only did we help with physical development, but we also pushed kids to use their imagination and memory throughout the class. The kids were to follow a specific routine in station rotations, while also using their imagination to stick to the theme throughout the class. Birthday parties were structured very similarly, but instead, we adjusted to incorporate parent involvement as well! Show less

In 2015, my mother opened a Kumon Math and Reading Center. I was too young to be working yet, so I volunteered as a grader and an Early Learner Assistant until I was old enough to work. Once I turned 14, I started working at Kumon. I started with the basics of learning how to grade the worksheets. Grading the worksheets helped me understand the structure of the program and allowed me to more easily transition into helping the early learner students. An Early Learner Student helps the younger kids (usually age 3-6) develop reading and writing skills within both math and reading. The reading worksheets consist of writing and reading letter sounds and slowly putting it all together to make words. The math worksheets help students to write their numbers and use mental math, instead of fingers, to solve problems. I pursued this job because I had an interest in working with kids but eventually found that I wanted to branch and explore more options. Show less
