      I was always the second-in-command, right after our Managing Director Verrin. After joining Romans for a year and a half, my managing title changed from Supervisor to Acting Manager.As a supervisor, I dealt more with inside, our staffs, accounts and human resource officers; but when I work as a manager, other than my previous jobs scope, I dealt with outsides - liaise with supplier, sponsorship, event and marketing company.

      I first met Verrin when I had my WSET course in Kuala Lumpur. Being the only two JB-ians, we had all our lunch together, and she interested me with this idea of having a wine house in Johor Bahru Mount Austin area. I joined her without second thought, seeing this might be a chance that I can seriously make my interests a career. Seeing Romans went from empty shoplot to a wonderful accommodation for all the people I had met in the past one and a half year, will definitely be a fond memory. Working as a sommelier made me realised that theories and hands-on experience had to grow together. Johor Bahru market consist of mostly locals, and some Singaporeans when MCO ended. Know what the crowds wanted, learn how to recommend according to customer’s preferences or their pairing, hosting wine tasting events, all these beautiful experience grew me to become the person I am right now, and I thank Verrin a lot for the opportunity.
