I had the pleasure of working with Siddharth during his 2021 summer internship at John Deere. Siddharth was tasked with designing and implementing an automated pipeline to ingest geospatial data from an operational database into our data lake. Siddharth collaborated with myself, all members of our engineering team, and even some leads of other engineering teams to design an architecture for the ingestion pipeline. He was able to implement the entire pipeline from start to finish with automated tests and infrastructure as code. Overall, I was very impressed with Siddharth's accomplishments over the summer. He has a passion for learning that was shown from his desire to increase his technical breadth across AWS services and big data processing patterns. Siddharth is very coachable and a great communicator. He knows how to ask good questions and seek guidance in order to quickly remove roadblocks. Most importantly, Siddharth has an amazing attitude and is a joy to work with! I believe Siddharth has a bright future as a software engineer, or any technical role he may wish to pursue, and I'm looking forward to see what he accomplishes next!

I have had the privilege of working with Siddharth since Fall 2020. Currently, he serves as one of the technical leads for a Merck & Co., collaboration with Purdue University. In his role as the Software Development Lead, he is responsible for the design and full-stack implementation of a data pipeline centralizing biometric datastreams packaged in the form of a proof of concept internal website and external facing mobile application. Our prototype was completed ahead of schedule and received by stake-holders in such a fashion that we were able to procure additional resources for further development. As such, I can witness that Siddharth has a proven track-record of up-skilling quickly and executing on collaborative deliverables. Also, Siddharth conducts himself respectfully with a positive candor amongst his peers and superiors. I have never noticed him behaving unkindly and he has a general tendency towards compassion. Thus, I am confident in my assessment that Siddharth is an excellent candidate for any position requiring a high level of proficiency from a computer engineering/data science and project management perspective. I am proud to have him on my team, but would support all personal and professional development should he choose to pursue other opportunities. He’s a delight to work with and has driven the project beyond initial expectations. If you are looking at Siddharth as a candidate, go ahead. Hire him already. -Terri

      1. Lead a group of 10 students with varying levels of experience to create a solution to predict the experimental conditions for HPLC-MS/MS Assay for Pharmacokinetics using NLP. This setup will reduce the trial and error needed to perform tests on new drugs and will speed up the drug delivery process. 2. Worked with Bio-analysts from Merck, the key stakeholders, to identify pain points in their process as well as gain subject knowledge to design the right solution for them. 3. The project was organized into four components: a. Building an optimized data pipeline to extract high-quality HPLC-MS/MS abstracts from PubMed b. Manually annotating abstracts to create a data corpus to train an NLP Model c. Training, evaluating and comparing multiple NLP models (pre-trained and un-trained) to extract assays from abstracts with high accuracy. We focused on vanilla BERT, BioBERT, spaCy, and RoBERTa. d. Easy-to-use website built for Bio-Analysts to query the curated assays to find their information quickly and efficiently Show less
