  At rotaract Club of Deonar, an annual Community Service event called as X-Pressions which is in its 24th year as of now is being under my scrutiny for this year. I was the chairperson for the event in the year 2012-13. It has always been an event where the school children from not so well-to-do schools get a chance to compete in art and talent with the good schools in the area. The event generally provides this platform to 4000 odd kids and takes the help of 100 schools to do so. The event Talent Fiesta which is also a Community Service based Event is an event where the specially abled children get a chance to showcase their talent in a grand way in front of the world. Mumbai's leading special schools are known to take part in this event. I have also been the chairperson of the event Speak up where the Rotaract Club of Deonar brought the event forward along with the Piramal Foundation. This Professional Development initiative aimed at developing public speaking skills in the school children. Initially we had taken lectures in the schools where such skills are overlooked and developed skills for them to fight stage fear and polish their English. The last phase of the competition was thus the final competition where the selected students competed with the students of the better and affluent schools in the city. Show less
