  I was one of the small team of leader writers who wrote The Sun Says column during my last few years on The Sun Back Bench and then on a freelance basis for a few years afterwards. Working closely with the Editor, other senior executives and the parliamentary team, I would select the topics for editorials, research and develop the arguments, and then write to deadline. Sun leaders cover a wide range of subjects from politics to showbiz to pay-off funnies – all in the forthright but accessible style that delivers impact from the corridors of power to the Coach and Horses.
