I led a highly-successful, fast-paced and dynamic campaigns and public affairs team at Women's Aid, also providing the lead on policy issues across the organisation reporting directly to the Director of Policy, Campaigns and Research and working closely with the CEO.I led the organisation to campaign successes including, securing an additional £33 million in crisis funding for women's refuges, new legislation to bar a perpetrator of domestic abuse from cross examining their victim in the family courts and new rules around anonymous registration for women in refuge. I developed and oversaw Women's Aid's public affairs strategy, ensuring that survivors of domestic abuse voices are brought to the heart of Government. I regularly represented Women's Aid on national and local broadcast media, spoke at conferences and events and met with senior Government stakeholders, including various Government Ministers and Secretary of States. I managed a team of three policy, public affairs and campaign professionals and contributed to the development of Women's Aid's high level business plans and organisational strategy. The team also provided the Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Domestic Violence and coordinated a grass-roots network of Campaign Champions.
