Five site survey interps, utilising CODA for digital interpretation of sonar and sub-bottom profiler data. IHS Kingdom interpretation for 2DHR seismic geohazard analysis. All based in UKCS Blocks. During this time I assisted the small number of geophysics staff in furthering their knowledge in Kingdom and advised the company in some areas on data acquisition issues. Deputy Manager Geophysics Department

- Joint responsibility for the Project Geophysicists in the office - Provide departmental decisions in the absence of the department manager, including a 3 month period where no manager was in place. - Ensure timely completion of reporting requirements within the department. - Final report QC alongside other senior staff/Directors. - Responsible for geophysical department crewing requirements for offshore operations, ensuring all staff certifications were current and valid under client requirements. Including sourcing and managing freelance staff when necessary. - Implementing newsletters and improved timetabling for crew rotations to aid the health and welfare of offshore geophysicists. - Training junior staff, overseeing work placements and assisting inter-departmental training. - Introducing quality procedures for data handover between offshore and office geophysicist. - Continued supervision for the CHP project, to provide geophysical support between the vessel, office and MOD Overseer. - Attend conferences and seminars relating to geology, geophysics and marine technology. Joining as a trainee Geo in 1996 negotiating data acquisition and processing of analogue sonar and sub-bottom profiler data and 2D High Resolution Seismic Data to fulfill the requirements of the following surveys : - Site Surveys - Debris Surveys - Pipeline Routes - Cable Routes - Bundle Tow Routes - Civil Hydrographic Programme (CHP) My time at sea progressed from trainee to experienced Geo and included a few trips working as a processing Surveyor working with Bathymetry Data. My offshore time concluded in 2000, spending a few trips as Party Chief on the CHP projects. Show less
