Project title: Investigating different stakeholder perceptions of ‘water sensitive communities’ and their implications for developing water sensitive cities Contemporary challenges to urban water management have led to increasing calls for a paradigm shift to a community-centric, water sensitive city approach. Despite the widely recognised importance of water sensitive communities to sustainable water futures, this area of research remains relatively understudied. This project investigates different stakeholders’ perceptions of water sensitive communities and aims to understand what the key, perceived barriers and opportunities are to achieving them in Australian cities. The resulting research will help to better understand water sensitive communities, including what they involve, how different stakeholders view them, and what the next steps are to making them mainstream.
