Measurement and Simulation of Transmission Loss on a Small Engine Muffler (Exhaust) • Processed transmission loss measurement of muffler by using impedance tube • Built 1-D model and simulated by using SIDLAB and compared with measured data • Built 3-D model by using CREO and Hypermesh; simulated by using LMS. Virtual Lab and compared results Design, Test, and Simulation on Partial Enclosure ( Acoustic Enclosure) • Built Les Wirt’s Parasone absorber and determined the attenuation of Parasone installed in a partial enclosure • Processed BEM simulation cases using LMS Virtual. Lab and compared with measured data • Created a simple plane wave approach to determine the insertion loss of partial enclosures at low frequencies by using MATLAB • Developed the approach in 3D, validated the approach for different sources and modifications • Compared plane wave results, BEM results, and measured results for each case Feasibility Study of Patch Contribution Analysis of Sited Equipment • Demonstrated reciprocity techniques for a rooftop system, to determine transfer functions using a scale model • Used both experimental and numerical transfer function to determine the radiation performance of barriers Simulation and Measurement of HVAC lined/unlined ducts • Developed full frequency models for HVAC ducts and validated the models using measured results • Compared measured results (Insertion Loss and Breakout Transmission Loss) with simulation (FEA) results • Measurement and Prediction of Radiated Sound from Engine Cover (TPA) • Predicted sound radiated from cover excited by cylinder head using Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) and Simulation which compared reasonably well with the measurement for the engine cover • Made a modification to reduce noise in a selected frequency range Data Acquisition for the IPad (Acoustic Transducer) • Hardware and Software investigation • MicW Microphone performance test (Testing Range, Sensitivity) Show less
